I made this while he was still pinin' for the fjords, but wasn't able to post it at the place were I was going to because of how women are. Anyway, that situation has gotten me to get my act together to the point where I should henceforth be able to post images here more often.

I sent the delightfully elfin Dawn Eden some of my ideas of how to complete the partial Hillary quote (re: the new Clinton lie-barry): "This building is like my husband, it's _______." Just realized that the way I worded one, it sounds like Hillary is a college dude with an autoerotically compulsive room-mate. Oh, well. I was kind of trying to rip-off an old Dennis Miller bit.

Kind of a cool news thing here, although the pictures don't seem to have that much to do with the stories.

I am shocked, SHOCKED, I say, by this story. It's just the sort of thing that could give simplistic provincial literalists the impression that secular terrorists that were on the KGB's payroll when they were signing checks for that sort of thing are capable of collaborating in some indirect way with Islamic Fundamentalists.

As you may or may not already be aware, members of the Watcher's Council hold a vote every week on what they consider to be the most link-worthy pieces of writing around... per the Watcher's instructions, I am submitting one of my own posts for consideration in the upcoming nominations process.

Here is the most recent winning council post, here is the most recent winning non-council post, here is the list of results for the latest vote, and here is the initial posting of all the nominees that were voted on.

See below, the text of my presumably ineffective e-mail to Senators Frist and Santorum:

Arlen Specter would not make a satisfactory Judiciary Chairman. The party's base, of which I am fairly representative, is restless. Michael Moore did more to persuade us to support Bush than any Republican has. Conservatives are now perceived as being "in power", and will thus be held responsible for everything that goes wrong for at least the next four years, yet very few items in the Conservative agenda have been implemented. All major recent Conservative victories have been reactive responses to brushfires like gay marriage. If Arlen Specter is allowed to impede the appointment of qualified, proper constructionists to the bench, then the long term political price of being "in power" will not be worth the limited, short term ideological gains.

Sincerely-

Dave Munger

Here's something.

UPDATE: The above link isn't working for me, but if you type the URL directly (http://something.com) it works, and does something that is almost sort of amusing in a way. I'm still posting here somewhat more often than here at The Hand, for the time being.
