Wanting to get some daisies is probably insufficient cause for war, and I believe that Storm Troopers were welcomed in places like Austria with actual bouquets, but it is rather perverse that the statement "We were told that our troops would be greeted with flowers" is now invariably suffixed with "THEY WERE NOT", when one takes into account the odd fact that they literally were. Everyone ought to be able to addmit this, as it would in no way require anyone to agree that we should still be there, that the Iraqis with the flowers were representative of the nation as a whole, or that that in itself justified the invasion. It's just a matter of objective fact, devoid of almost all significance aside from it's diagnostic value. It shows how close the state of mind of the populace of the urban coastal population centers has come to mass psychosis that they find it neccessary to so strenuously and pointlessly deny that a small gesture that we all saw on TV ever took place.
