This is a story about how the market for organs should be privatized. I’ve always considered it a no brainer. The big bugaboo of this is supposed to be that it would "create a market for human organs to be bought and sold like meat, blah blah blingledy blah..." As if when government controls the supply, that reduces demand! The need creates the demand, and government control can do only two things to this market, drive it underground and blacken it, or monopolize it, like in China. Any Larry Niven reading geek should know this.
This opinion about our policies toward India and Pakistan, is correct.
When I first saw this story, I thought it was going to be an obscure thing that I could link to that wouldn’t get any play elsewhere, so people would all say that this is the kind of thing you only hear about from The Hand Of Munger. I was going to link to it all jokey like:
Talk about exploitation! This is WAY too expensive.
It was all over the radio throughout the next week.
